Surviving the Winter Blast of December 2008!

Hungry birds found the filled feeders and frequent them non-stop between snow showers.

Cedar berries and icy branches and needles.

Natural Christmas Greens

Snowy forest in the pasture ... at least 6" of snow with deeper drifts in places.

burried holly berry

Remember those blackberries I took a picture of late November?

a view of the surrounding valley from our deck

A new weather front moves in ... forecast: more snow and ice with temperature in the teens!
Good quilting weather!

Shirley, I'm envious of your getting out. Can't wait to see pictures of your MTM project. Good thing I have lots to keep me entertained here in the studio and, let's face it, I'm pretty much a "home-bodie" anyway. But, the last time we went down the hill was almost a week ago! And we won't be out any time soon either unless they come up our hill with the plows and sanding trucks. LOLby Kay on 22 December 2008 at 8:12 p.m.

Kay: I love the photos especially the one from the deck. I have a backyard full of hungry birds and squirrels. Try to keep them fed but the snow keep covering the food on the ground and in the feeders. Will be glad when this is over. So far we've had power and hope it continues.by Pat on 21 December 2008 at 5:59 p.m.

Beautiful pictures! The one of the valley is great inspiration for a landscape with thread painting. That'll be a project for my next life.by Ruth on 19 December 2008 at 11:20 p.m.

Kay what wonderful pic's. I finally got out today and went shopping at Costco, had lunch with my daughter and went to Fabric Depot. Just had to find another print for my MTM border. The snow is very beautiful but it will be nice when its all gone.by Shirley on 19 December 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
