| Make a Smilebox postcard |
I find the holiday season one of the hardest times of the year to have family scattered across the states. Most of the time I can fill my life and times with quilting and enjoy the solitude of a quiet house, but the emptiness looms with a roar during the holidays. But through the magic of technology, we were able to spend some time together this evening. Christmas Eve has always been our big celebration time and so it was again this year.
Toby managed to get all of us ... Mike and me here in Portland, OR, Eryn in Jacksonville, AL, Toby and his family in Boston, and Mike's brother and Mother in Ontario, OR ... together on a conference call. What a wonderful time catching up, sharing memories, comparing weather stories, and laughing about family silliness. Almost the best Christmas a mother could wish for since no one could come home.

I love the Smilebox. Also, what a great idea about the conference call - I wish I'd thought about that. I've been thinking about you and the storms up there and it sounds as though you are making good use of the conditions and having a good time. I spent yesterday afternoon outside in a T-shirt raking leaves - I think I would have preferred being inside working on UFO's.by Al on 29 December 2008 at 5:21 a.m.
