I'm a firm believer that one increases their creativity by being open to and playing with a variety of cretative endeavors ... at least that my excuse for today. Enjoy your sourjourn through my studio playroom. May you find encouragement and inspiration, and on occassion, a little pin-prick that may be thought-provoking or spark your imagination. Thank you for stopping by.

    NEW CLASSES ON THE CALENDAR

Posted by mountaintopquilting on Sunday, March 29th, 2009

It's time to start thinking about the new season of classes to be offered this spring and summer. You'll find me on the schedule for piecing classes at Pioneer Quilts in Damascus and Sharon's Attic in Hillsboro. Today is all about the classes at Pioneer Quilts located in Damascus. Check back tomorrow for info about the classes being offered in Hillsboro at Sharon's Attic.

    At Pioneer Quilts (503-558-1111):

    • STAR TABLE MAT is a great class to take to learn all about partial seam construction and how easy it really is. This great tablemat will help you work your way a little further in reducing your stash, and is sure to be on your Christmas Gift List for friends and family. It finishes about 18" across. You need a background, and scrap yardage bits from 8 different fabrics. (June 22nd 10:30-3:30 ... Supply List available from Pioneer Quilts when you enroll in the class.)

    • JANE'S BASKETS:  This class is reminiscent of the Dear Jane Quilts in that the basket blocks in the class sample finish at a mere 5". You can choose to make your blocks at 5" with the quilt finishing as a miniature at about 28" or you can choose to make the blocks finish at 7.5" You'll want to come to class enjoying a day of piecing with your quilting friends while I teach you the ins and out - all my tips and tricks - for piecing points and pressing and working with an on-point setting and sizing the setting/corner triangles. All you need to do  is choose your backing and scrap yardage for 13 different fabrics. I used a great selection of red and green 1800's reproductions from the beautiful collection on the shelves at Pioneer Quilts. (June 29th 10:30-3:30. Supply List available from Pioneer Quilts when you enroll in the class.)

Remember to come to the open house at Pioneer Quilts this Saturday to meet all the teachers, check out all the new class samples, and sign up for the classes that fit on your calendar. Door prizes and refreshments and a chance to ask the teacher's any questions you might have about their classes.

See you Saturday April 4th between 10:00 and 2:00 at Pioneer Quilts!
