Time for an update on the progress we're making with the kitchen. It feels like home more and more each day. It's true what they say about the kitchen being the heart of the home. Not only was the house physically warmer when all the holes to the outside were closed up with insultation, wallboard, and cabinets, the overall feeling was immediately warmed as soon as the cabinets began going into place.

Since these pictures were taken all of the crown molding is now finished and the triangle hutch cupboard is in place ready for finish work - staining, doors, shelves and finish molding. The sink should be here any day as well as the light fixtures for over the island. Bob began cutting the stone today and will come by near the end of this week to start with the countertops.

I've begun unpacking boxes (and boxes and more boxes) of dishes and glassware (I do love my treasures!) and storing pantry items in the cupboards. I'll be so glad when the stove is moved into place and hooked up so I can finally begin cooking for real rather than the "camp-out" cooking I've been doing for almost 3 months, now. I've realized how much I do like cooking and trying new recipes. There no substiture for the process ... all the prep work we tend to groan and complain about in our daily routines. It contributes tp a very satisfying journey in fixing a meal from beginning to end.
