With the journaling on the page you can kind of get an idea of where I might be going with this project. I like brainstorming the possibilities. The exploration helps me narrow the focus of the project. But sometimes even the brainstorm is a little slow to get started.

I used journaling prompts this time to help jump-start the process with these photos.

    • I wonder ???
    • I like:
    • How:
    • I think:

I also like to find inspirational or meaningful quotes to help expand the possibilities. Sometimes these quotes can be defining, or heavy in concept, and other times they can be downright funny!

I'm excited about this project. I have the stitch-out completed and am ready to start with surface treatments. I need to do a little bit of experimenting with the different metallic mediums to make sure I can create the effect I see in my mind. I still haven't determined how or whether to include photos, but my buttons are sorted. I had to be a little bit persistent in my search for metal buttons with holes rather than the shank on the back. I like the buttons laying flat to the fabric better than presenting a raised profile.

To be decided ... the edge treatment ... to bind, to leave unfinished and pinked, to frame ... I'll have to show you the project when I get to that stage and let you help me choose which looks best.
