Welcome to Mountaintop Quilting Studio

This is where you find me exploring a variety of creative adventures mostly about but not limited to quilting. I'm a firm believer that one increases their creativity by being open to and playing with a variety of cretative endeavors ... at least that my excuse for today. Enjoy your sourjourn through my studio playroom. May you find encouragement and inspiration, and on occassion, a little pin-prick that may be thought-provoking or spark your imagination. Thank you for stopping by.

    storytimeA Window In Time

    We talked, we laughed
    We ate, we played
    And then we said good-bye
But each day, as I sit and sigh
And think about the days gone by
I’ll travel back again in time
    If only in my mind.

They're gone ... all gone. Monday the rooms began to echo with emptiness as we packed up the UHaul. Tuesday they left early in the morning to get their house in Brookline cleaned and ready for moving back in.

We drove in tandem, Mike and I, he in the UHaul and I in the Element. And then we began the unpacking ... everything to the middle of designated rooms to be sorted and organized later in the week. First priority: cribs rebuilt so naps could be taken on a regular schedule.

At the end of the day ... at the end of a very long hot day ... take-out ribs and beer with the family on the deck. Nice family time. And then back to the Berkshires for Mike, Miso, and me ... back to the cool Berkshires and a house that echos with emptiness. Mike leaves Wednesday; Miso is with me until her space is set up in Brookline.

I hate the heaviness in my heart, the hard rock of loneliness in the pit of my stomach as I walk through the rooms wandering and cleaning, remembering and redecorating, hearing the echo of toddler laughter and late night conversations. Looking back and looking forward: September at the end of the month, a local festival, Apple Squeeze Days. They'll all be back and these walls will ring once more with laughter and love as memories are formed and traditions built.

    • Awh... You know, I think working on a circle quilt for your daughter might help fill that void. ;0) XOXO! Eryn and Coco
