I'm a firm believer that one increases their creativity by being open to and playing with a variety of cretative endeavors ... at least that my excuse for today. Enjoy your sourjourn through my studio playroom. May you find encouragement and inspiration, and on occassion, a little pin-prick that may be thought-provoking or spark your imagination. Thank you for stopping by.

SEASONAL CHANGES"Come said the wind to
    the leaves one day,
    Come o're the meadows
    and we will play.
    Put on your dresses
    scarlet and gold,
    For summer is gone
    and the days grow cold."

     September To-Do List:

    •  change out summer dishes to fall plaid dishes
    •  change out Summer quilts/wall hangings to Fall quilts
    •  pack away Summer patriotic knick knacks for Fall things
    •  change out sunflower nightlight to maple leaf nightlight
    •  ... enough for today ... the list will continue to grow as tasks are completed and new ones added

Swirling leaves across the quilt top can be fun with this easily stitched out pattern ... 1238 Ripples and Leaves. The original pattern is designed at about 76" wide and 14" high with an easy stretch to 80" in pattern width without distortion. The pattern is designed as a complete row without any repeats needed. However, with the divide pattern function in the Creative Studio software you can easily adjust the pattern to any width you might need. I like to have my ripples running the length of the quilt or with vertical lines so I load the quilt top/backing sideways with the clamps attached to the top/bottom of the quilt and the sides pinned to the leaders.

1238 blogI've reworked a new version for my personal use that is smaller and closer or more densely quilted and yet extended to about 100" in pattern width and about 10-11" in pattern height. I'm working on a simple wholecloth quilt to use as a base quilt fitting my kingsize mattress. It will be just right with smaller quilts layered on top of the leafy foundation quilt. I plan on using a varigated fallish colored thread to show off the falling leaves against the plain fabric.
