TRASH OR TREASURE

Pathway Plunder, Track Treasures, Loot along the Lane ... call it what you want, but the bottom line is all of it is FREE for anyone who wants to carry it away.
I love going for my daily walks and seeing a sign like this along the road boxes and various items stacked waiting for a new home. It's like manna from heaven - ask and you shall receive.
It began with flower pots. Mine are still in Oregon. Most of the items in the barn and the greenhouse are waiting for the final move after we sell the house. But it was Spring and the time for planting here. Alas, no pots. (sigh) I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked in the box that day and found 4 pots waiting for my precious dirt and seeds.
The next item was a night stand drawer unit; it's perfect for one of the guest rooms. I also found two small round tables that will work for bedside lamps in another guest room. All they need is a little dressing up with a round table cloth. They even came with the glass round circles.
Another day I found a small computer desk. It has wheels for rolling here and there. It is absolutely perfect for my bedroom - just fits my laptop. We found during the summer when we're one big extended family living under the same roof that it's nice to have a "bedroom suite" to retire to when one of us wants to have close friends over, or the girls want to watch Project Runway and the guys could give a rip. I know I will enjoy it this winter when I can work in the warmth of the sun as it pours in through the bedroom windows.

One day we opened our front door on our way out for a walk to the post office with the twins and there were 4 chairs right across the street just waiting for us to carry them home. They will be great in the Brass Studio when the guys are having retreats, master classes, and private lessons. I also got one of those magnetic spice tin holders that is perfect for paper clips, bobbins, buttons, pins, anything you possibly imagine that might need sorting and storing in a small round metal box.
But the absolute best find so far has been the big wheels. I couldn't believe my eyes when I was walking along "firefly hill" and I saw two big wheel tricycles one for a boy and one for a girl just right for Colin and Luci. I stepped up the pace back home for the car as quickly as I could going right back up before someone else came along. Luci and Colin played and played with them all summer riding from one end of the house to the other. Races were held around the kitchen island. Rides were given to panda bear and blue dog.
Everyday I wonder what new treasures I'll find as I walk along my way to the post office, up firefly hill, around the block and down the street.
