AWAKENING

It's the best - that quiet time in the morning as the village is waking up - the quiet time before the house is astir. The clocks haven't started ticking yet. Time is my own.
Time to ponder and plan my day in my favorite sitting spot on my stoop. I've never had a stoop before ... for sitting or sweeping. I like having a stoop.
The morning is crisp and cool, clear skies above
My favorite cup of the season full of steaming hot coffee made specially for me with fat free half and half and my sugar-free hazelnut syrup. Alas, it's almost gone ... must find a supply source near here for flavored syrups for coffee. I feel so much better when I fix my own than when I use the coffeemate flavoring.
Birds chatter at the feeders busy about their way. The squirrels and chipmunks are seldom seen since Miso came to visit. That is a good thing considering the potential for damage and destruction to my home once they decide to invade the walls and attic space.
The wind sighs high in the turning leaves trees.
Children call to one another in the distance while waiting for the school bus.
Just me and my journal suspended in time in space in my warm cozy comfy space where anything is possible before my day begins.
