MUCHNESS

After a quick trip into Boston to help out with babysitting duties - I know, it's rough being a grandma, but someone's gotta do it :) - I was ready for some chillaxin' time when I got back home. Eryn has been after me to watch Alice in Wonderland, and this seemed like a great time to snuggle under the warm quilts with Miso and enjoy the show.
What a creative artful movie in every sense. I loved the costuming and taking the storyline a step further. And how many of us can relate to Alice needing to find her MUCHNESS ... which inspired this piece for my art journal.
My poem reads:
Searching here. Searching there.
I’ve lost my muchness today.
I can’t seem to find my vim and vigor,
my joy and enthusiasm for life anywhere.
Searching here. Searching there. Searching everywhere.
What to do?
Puttering, stuttering,
holding myself still.
Close my eyes.
Watching,
Listening
Searching here. Searching there.
Waiting for my muchness to appear.
Waiting for my muchness to sneak up on me
with a poke in the imagination when I’m not looking.
Surely my muchness will show up soon.
Searching, searching, searching ...
I’ve lost my muchness today.
Can you help me find my muchness?
I need my muchness to thrive.
I feel shriveled and dry,
Used up
Emptiness inside.
Searching here. Searching there. Searching everywhere.
Surely my muchness is somewhere near.
I’ve looked everywhere but can’t seem to find it.
Please, my dear muchness,
Won’t you come out with me today?
Muchness, I need you.
You make me complete.
You add purpose to my days and peace to my nights.
Muchness, I need you.
You provide direction to my path
and life to my pen.
You give me hope.
You give me courage.
Muchness, I need you to help me on my way.
Muchness, I need you to help me through the day.
Searching here.
Searching there.
Searching everywhere.
