COSMOS

Having grown up on the Oregon coast and Mike in the Treasure Valley on the eastern border of Oregon between Oregon and Idaho, we both missed our views of the night sky. The city lights glow from Portland and surrounding areas pretty much dim our night-time stars into faded memories.
Now that we live in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts we are once again treated to a bright starry-night view on a regular basis. What a joy! I'm still looking forward to a view of the Northern Lights but am content at the moment with my clear night skies with amazing star displays that can literally take my breath away.
Cosmos is the theme for the month of January in the Creative Every Day challenge. I wanted to be able to combine my artistic endeavors with my Art Journal Caravan and the CED theme into one project in my art journal.
The quote: Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us — there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, of falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries.
I have a dream one day of re-creating this image in fabric using actual twinkling lights embeded in the quilt sandwich to simulate the stars. Hmmmm ... how to do that???
