DANCE

The binding is finished ... almost ready to mark this one off the UFO list. Two things are left to do first:
-
add the little bee buttons ...or ... use the patch as shown in the photo. (Which do you think I should use?)
-
I'd like to add some journaling in my own handwriting to this piece as well. My thoughts are in a couple of directions ... the story about my dad and his bee keeping adventures ... or ... the poem below. Hmmm ... wish I had pictures of my dad wearing his bee hat. Oh well, ...
Dance of The Honeybee
Ed Keenan
Sunlight crossed the front of the hive
this morning ...
And with a dance in the heart,
the honeybees burst to the entrance
crowding the slender opening,
prepared to start the
circle dance.
Anxious for the hive to warm,
a signal to flee right on into spring
on to landing pads of bloom,
impatient for the
wagging dance.
And sunlight entered under my door
this morning …
And just for fun ... you can download the qli file for the honeycomb quilting pattern HERE for free. (Remember to choose "save" so your pattern will open correctly with your Statler longarm.)

Of course, Sherry, take lots of photos during your sharing session for me. I always love it when an idea or project sends out little sparks and ripples of creativity to other parts of the world. Keeps us all connected as we share common interests.by Kay on 31 January 2011 at 1:27 p.m.

Kay this is wonderful - do you mind if I share your blog with the Indian Lake Homemakers Ladies group? At one of our annual meetings we had a beekeeper as our guest speaker and it was so interesting!by Sherry on 31 January 2011 at 12:42 p.m.
