Welcome to Mountaintop Quilting Studio

This is where you find me exploring a variety of creative adventures mostly about but not limited to quilting. I'm a firm believer that one increases their creativity by being open to and playing with a variety of cretative endeavors ... at least that my excuse for today. Enjoy your sourjourn through my studio playroom. May you find encouragement and inspiration, and on occassion, a little pin-prick that may be thought-provoking or spark your imagination. Thank you for stopping by.

    WHRILWIND DAYS

It's just a regular day again here in the studio. Everything starts off with nice and relaxed pace. Do the stretching routine. Ahhhh, that feels good  too many tight muscles here to skip this daily habit. Got to coffee going and blueberries with yogurt sounds like a good healthy breakfast. Throw in a few almonds just for good measure and some crunchy texture. Next on the list is to compete my morning pages. I write every morning ... a free stream of concious type of writing that many will call a "brain drop." It's a great way to clear my head from all that is swirling and to focus my energies for the day.

The day is Wednesday (yesterday) which means I need to come up with a project to work on while I'm at quilt group with the gals in at the LQS ... Pumpkin Patch Quilts just 3 or 4 miles down the road in Lee. I usually try to take hand work so I can relax and chat with the girls while accomplishing something. When I take my machine I tend to concentrate on my piecing and miss all the socializing.

Hmmm ... UPS man should be here sometime today ... I wonder ... life would be so much eaiser if he came ... Yep there he is ... and he brought my boxes down to the studio door. Yeah, they are learning who I am and where Iam  AND where Mountaintop Quilting lives these days. Let's see what's in the boxes ...

... books from Pat ..... and ... Paws in the Pond blocks from Juanita. Bless her .... such beautiful and precise piecing.

Oh, goodie ... look at this stack of quilts  from Oregon to be quilted on the longarm. My mind is already spinning with pattern possibilities! And look, what else is in here. Oh my, these are beautiful ... the first two rounds of exchange blocks for our Scrappy Sister Christmas Round Robin. This means I'd really better get a little more serious about piecing my blocks for this exchange.

I love having Christmas scattered here and there throughout the year ... especially when it has to do with quilting. Which reminds me, I also got another box from the UPS delivery ... a box full of Christmas fabrics and two panels from Northcott. I was in heaven when I first saw this line and now that I've peaked your curiousity, you'll just have to come back tomorrow to see what was in that box. Oh have I got plans for this collection.

But back to the original dilemma ... what to work on with the gals in at Wednesday quilt group ??? I did come up with a plan that helps me on my task with the Christmas exchange blocks AND uses my Accu-Go cutter. You'll have to check back on Saturday for that post.

Yesterday was a great day and I have lots to putter and play with while we hunker down for another Spring snowstorm that is supposed to drop about 10" of the blessed white stuff again. I prefer that to the sleet and freezing rain, so I'm not going to complain about the current weather forcast.

    ... be bold ... be brave ...

... make and share the music of your soul ...
