ENOUGH ALREADY!

The best laid plans seem to go awry but enough already. Friends are calling. Emails come in daily. Facebook messages and notifications. Yes, I'm still here. Yes, I do believe life is beginning to slowly return to normal. Yes, the distractions are gradually beginning to dissipate. I say, ENOUGH ALREADY! Let's get back in the ring and start catching up ... start moving forward.
One of my thoughts (dare I admit - 2 months ago) was to begin the process of catching up following the theme of "how did you spend your summer vacay?" but that would seem a little bit silly at this late stage in the game. We are clearly well into Fall in the Berkshires and even had a little taste of Winter right before Halloween. So, I'll start right out with the current projects at hand and sprinkle some of the summer activities throughout the chilly months of winter when it will be enjoyable to reminisce about those fun times and warmer days.
A constant dilemma for me has been the question of content type for my blog. I have struggled with the decision of how much to stray from the business of quilting and let you in on the other stuff I play with, explore, and experiment with. Today I finally reached an acceptable definition of "guiding principals" for my blog parameters that I feel comfortable with. I hope you'll find the content interesting as well. You will find yourself reading mostly about quilting, but you will also follow me down the path of other creative art-driven adventures as well. Trying to confine or contain my curious mind to only one area of the arts is just not possible. Every time my psyche gets even the barest hint of boundaries, fences, or the confines of a box my soul begins to squirm. tTe reaction is so strong I'm know I'm guilty of beginning to squirm and wiggle in my chair. I say again, enough already, it's time to move forward and share in the fun!
Today was a beautiful day in the Berkshires - perfect for a photo walk. You never know which project will call to these photos but as I walked there seemed to be an emerging theme beyond the cliche label of the season. I've been exploring sites that generate lists of prompts to help guide the creative process or to give it direction and the prompt for this week is rememberance. I was drawn to images that were connected to memories of walking the same path this summer, thoughts and memories of friends back in Oregon, and memories of holiday fun even just a few days ago. With that thought in mind, getting off on the right foot today as I rejoin the blogging world, feel free to join me on my photo walk of rememberance today.
remembering Halloween - I haven't lived where we had trick-or-treaters for 35 years
trying to remember, are these the berries on the vine that chokes the tree
remembering how much I love Honey Crisp apples straight from the tree
remembering how I wish I had longer legs
remembering to change my perspective
remembering I always have choices (and what were those street names?)
Thanks for stopping by. It's good to be back. Have a great day!
PS: Oh ... and I have decided that when I can remember (lol) I will go a head and 'back-post" if the content leads in that direction.
