Ruth's quilt from our Summer Exchange Retreat. Each summer 12-15 of us Scrappy Sisters get together to exchange 2.5" and 4.5" strips in the designated colors. Last summer we traded strips in peach and green making sure to have a good balance of lights, mediums, and darks. We meet on Friday night for a potluck barbeque dinner, a quilt show of quilts from the retreat of the previous summer, and then the trading of strps. Some of us start sewing after the trading until well into the wee hours of the morning. Others drop off to sleep and are up before dawn starting on a new project with their strips.
I love the way Ruth's blocks chain across the top of the quilt and frame in showing off her applique blocks. Nicely done Ruth!
Ruth chose my Songbirds E2E pattern to finish up her quilt top. And ... she has another 7,744 square inches to add to her UFO totals as soon as she finishes the binding.
